He established his own practice in the year 1989 under the name of Anand Architects. The firm has been honoured with the prestigious Society Interiors Creative Excellence Honour in April 2006.
Anand was inducted into the Rotary Club of Madras Industrial City in the year 1997. As District Governor 9 10 of 3230(comprising the revenue Districts of Chennai, Kanchipuram, Vellore and Thirupattur), Anand and his Team 9 10 catapulted 3230 into the fifth position in the world in giving to the Rotary Foundation with 1.35million USDs.

Anand believes that one of the milestones achieved as DG was in reaching every Rotary Family of 3230 with the Governors Monthly Newsletter ‘Future 910’. Anand aspires that Rotary can rise above the ‘Numbership’ game and aim at Quality membership. Challenging the Rotarians of 3230 in giving to the Polio Fund was the innovative Project Shirt, where Anand and his team experienced setting up a stall at the International Conventions in Birmingham & Montreal and selling shirts for Polio to Rotarians from across 165 countries! Project Blossom brought a new lease of life to 365 leprosy patients with rehabilitative surgery.

On the invitation of the Rotary Districts 6360, 6290 and 6380 of Michigan, USA, Anand was a key speaker and Discussion Leader at the ‘Thirsting to Serve’, Water Conference in March2010, in conjunction with the Central Michigan University.

An avid Rotary Convention goer, Anand enjoys both hosting and travelling for Rotary. Anand is passionate about the Rotary Foundation. He admires and works towards achieving the mission of the Rotary Foundation.

Anand is married to Minakshi who worked with her First Ladies 9 10 in creating Thagamillai (water to corporation schools) and Snegithi (Life Skills for the teenage Girl Child) which covered over 5000 girls. Mina with her team of five Rotary Spouses are bringing water to a remote tribal village in Gobindpur Orissa. Anand and Mina are blessed with children Adi, their 14 year old daughter and Mukund their 11 year old son.
